Fist Drive is a mobile, cloud file sharing application for Google Drive. Lots of users keep important documents in the cloud, and they, from time to time, need to share some of those files with their peers. What Fist Drive does is make file sharing process cooler, faster and simpler, allowing users to share files while in the moment. It marries the awesome matching technology of Bump with Google Drive's cloud services. The application leverages Google Drive's access anywhere feature to allow users to share files, on the go. With this application, you will never have to manually type in an email address to share files. Just select the files and "fist bump" your phone with your friend/colleague's phone.
How it works:
When the application is launched, it connects to the Google accounts in the user's phone. Once authenticated, it will asynchronously fetch the user's Google Drive file and folders, and list them. To share a file, a user would have to simply select the file and gently bump phones with the other person. Fist Drive also allows the user to select and share multiple files and/or folders at once. The user should feel his/her phone vibrating when they bump, and then they’ll see the other person’s email address appear on their phone for approval of connection. If you don’t feel the vibration when you bump, you likely aren’t bumping hard enough. Even if you are on the receiving end of the file sharing, you have to have Fist Drive opened in order to receive files. Fist Drive also has a search feature that helps users easily locate files.
